Weather/Cancellation Policy
It is our hope that the weather forecasters will accommodate us on the scheduled trip dates. Unfortunately, our unpredictable Minnesota winters sometimes place us in a dilemma. For the ski trips listed, we have contracted with the bus company, the ski resort and also our chaperones and other volunteers. For these reasons, we will be reluctant to cancel trips unless the weather is very severe.
We will cancel a trip, and then use one of our "Inclement Weather Dates" if any of the following conditions exist:
1. The bus company can not provide safe transportation to and from the ski slopes.
2. The ski resort indicates that the skiing conditions are poor.
3. The actual temperature at 9:00 am on the day of the trip is (or is projected to be by 6pm that day) -5 degrees below zero or colder, and the conditions are not expected to improve by the time we will arrive.
Wind chill is very real, and we hope that you will dress accordingly. This includes covering any part of you face or head that you want to stay attached to your body with a hat and scarf. If you have any questions or concerns with this policy, please feel free to contact me.
